Video: Good Friday Prayer Walk retains familiar elements under new leadership

-

LANSING, Ill. (March 29, 2024) – The Good Friday Prayer Walk down Ridge Road has been a Lansing tradition since 2017. It was Pastor John Holyer, from Trinity Lutheran Church at the time, who first organized the ceremony. Pastor Dave Price, from First United Methodist Church at the time, was another organizing force each year. Both Holyer and Price transitioned to other pastorates during last year.

Janice Summerrise serves as Operations Director for All Souls Catholic Parish (which comprises St. Ann, St. James, and St. John). She took on the administrative responsibilities for organizing the event this year, which involves multiple congregations, multiple pastors, and a police escort. The Lansing Journal’s footage of this year’s Prayer Walk begins with an introduction to Janice Summerrise:

The St. Ann Church building is located at 3010 Ridge Road in Lansing, Illinois.
