Meals On Wheels — Can I help them? Can they help me?

LANSING, Ill. (April 2024) – Since 1978, Lansing Meals On Wheels has prepared and delivered fresh, hot meals to senior citizens, patients recovering from medical procedures, and home-bound residents who are unable to cook for themselves.

The program is a not-for-profit business operating out of the First United Methodist Church. It relies heavily on volunteers and donations for its success.

Meals are delivered on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10:30 a.m. and noon, and usually consist of an entrée, a carb (potato, rice, or noodles), a vegetable, bread, and a dessert.

The cost of a meal is $4.00, which can be paid by cash or check to the volunteer driver or mailed to:

Volunteering with Meals on Wheels

If interested in volunteering with the program, we currently have a need for part-time drivers. If you would like to help with delivering, please call Barb at 312-969-0385.
