LANSING, Ill. (April 19, 2024) – In 2017 Lansing began a new tradition — welcoming local veterans home after their day with Honor Flight Chicago. It’s a way to put a local cap on a national experience and let our service members know their hometown honors and appreciates them too.
The 2024 season of Honor Flight Chicago began on April 10, and seven local veterans were on that flight, an unusually high number. The Lansing Journal took advantage of the opportunity to shoot some video to give the broader community a sense of what’s involved in a Lansing welcome home:
