Journal Journeys: Heather Talbot and the weather photos she reserved

-

LANSING, Ill. (April 12, 2024) – “As a former Lansing resident, now in Virginia, I read the paper everyday,” wrote Heather Talbot. “I am interested in purchasing two of the weather photos to have a piece of ‘home’ here on the east coast.”

Heather chose Josh Bootsma’s June 2023 photo of the wildfire smoke blanketing Torrence and Brian Hardy’s October 2022 photo of the autumn trees on Chicago Ave.

Heather Talbot chose two Lansing weather photos for her home in Virginia. The Bootsma photo (left) is a 12×12″ framed print. The Hardy photo is a 12×12″ canvas.

“My grandmother lived in that area,” remembers Heather, “so I know that tree quite well! She lived in the big white Sears house on Chicago just north of 180th, righthand side.”

The weather photo exhibition will be on display at the library through May, and that timing works perfectly for Heather. She will be returning to Lansing in June to visit her father and will pick up her pieces then.
