ICYMI: Your decision to help local sports reporting will be matched

98 sports stories so far this year, free for anyone to read anytime

LANSING, Ill. (December 13, 2023) – From the beginning, local sports coverage was the number one request from Lansing Journal readers. We worked hard to cover the 23 sports TF South offers in 3 different seasons, as well as athletics from other local high schools, grade schools, churches, and miscellaneous groups.

Late last year we added veteran sports writer Mike Clark to our team of freelance reporters — we published his first story on Christmas Eve, 2022. In the months since then, Mike has filed 77 articles for Lansing Journal readers, covering TF South and TF North, but also Marian Catholic, Illiana, South Suburban College, and even the Gary RailCats and the Northwest Indiana Oilmen.

Some newspapers put their work behind a paywall as a way to encourage people to pay for what they read. The Lansing Journal doesn’t do that. Every article about every athlete from every school is free for anyone to read.

But it costs money for us to provide that service. Will you help cover those costs?

Right now because of a SUSTAINABILITY MATCH, when you sign up as a Monthly Supporter at any level, The Lansing Journal will receive an extra $100. Use the form below to help us keep reporting — not just local sports, but all the local coverage you love to read each morning:
