GARY, Ind. (August 11, 2021) – Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana is continuing to host many free performances this summer. A full list of the acts is included below:

Friday, 8/13/2021

DJ Xavier – Council Oak Bar Stage – 8 p.m.

  • Xavier is known as one of the pioneers of the Chicago House Music Movement. He was honored to be named to the Architects of House as one of the 100 most influential DJ’s in the Chicago House Music scene between 1975 and 1995.

Chicago 6 – Council Oak Bar Stage – 9 p.m.

  • Dan Hampton has put the band back together and is partnering with his former Chicago Bear Super Bowl teammate Otis Wilson in addition to other band members with extensive musical talent for a revival of the Chicago 6 Band. The band originally included Walter Payton and Dave Duerson and was formed out of the free time created by the 1987 NFL strike.

DJ Maurice Joshua – Council Oak Bar Stage – 8 p.m.

  • Maurice Joshua is a Grammy Award winning producer, a songwriter, and a DJ. Known as the Remix King, Maurice has worked with the likes of Beyoncé, Donald Lawrence, Mary Mary, Zhane, Yolanda Adams, Patti Labelle, Michael Jackson, Luther Vandross, Mary J Blige, John Legend, and more.

7th Heaven – Hard Rock Café Stage – 9 p.m.

  • 7th Heaven is a Pop Rock band from the Chicagoland area. 7th heaven started in 1985 and is one of the biggest and busiest indie bands in the world. The band has released over 800 original songs.

DJ Ten – Council Oak Bar Stage – 8 p.m.

  • Mark Johnson, known professionally as DJ TEN, is an American DJ & Remix Producer based out of Chicago, Illinois. Ten’s early musical musical aspirations as a young kid began while watching his father and uncles dabble in the DJ business throughout the city. His musical inspirations gave him the motivation to create avenues of his own, such as performing in singing groups and personally for family and friends.

Hey Cowboy – Hard Rock Café Stage – 9 p.m.

  • Since 2008, Hey Cowboy! Has been a dance and party band based out of Chicago. Although they call Chicago home, that has not kept them from entertaining the nation — with performances all around the United States. They have a large list of country, rock and pop tunes that are sure to keep audiences entertained and dancing.

Ronnie Baker Brooks – Hard Rock Café Stage – 9 p.m.

  • Ronnie Baker Brooks is the son of Chicago Blues legend Lonnie Brooks. Father and son toured and performed with Eric Clapton, B.B. King, Buddy Guy and Koko Taylor before going solo at age 32 in 1998.

DJ WyldChyld – Council Oak Bar Stage – 8 p.m.

  • For over 18 years, Tony Benion aka DJ WyldChyld, has been a regular fixture in Chicago’s nightlife scene. His acclaim skyrocketed after serving as a 2011 Lollapalooza DJ.

The Breakfast Club – Hard Rock Café Stage – 9 p.m.

  • The Breakfast Club is a long-running, easily recognized 80s tribute band. Formed in 1993, the group was the first of its kind. The mission was simple: create an entertainment group that embodied the enigmatic, creative, and buoyant spirit of music and live performances of the original MTV generation of the 1980’s. That mission remains today.

DJ Lil’ John – Council Oak Bar Stage – 8 p.m.

  • DJ Lil’ John is globally recognized for his remixes and production work during the 1990’s, but these days he has been making a name for himself in the world of commercial radio. On a daily basis, he supplies pre-recorded mini-mixes for Chicago’s Soul 106.3FM.

American English – Hard Rock Café Stage – 9 p.m.

  • American English is a Beatles tribute band based in the Chicago area. At the inception of the band, they were voted “number one” by thousands of Beatles fans as winners of sound alike contests at Beatlefest for three consecutive years. They have also won Illinois Entertainer of the Year and have been voted “Best Tribute Band” three of the last four years by their fans in the Chicagoland area.

  • With a recording career that began in 1998 at age 18, award-winning vocalist Shemekia Copeland has grown to become one of the most talented and passionately candid artists on today’s roots music scene. Her new album, Uncivil War, builds on the musically and lyrically adventurous territory she’s been exploring for over a decade, blending blues, R&B, and Americana into a sound that is now hers alone.

Mike Wheeler Band – Council Oak Bar Stage – 8 p.m.

  • Mike Wheeler has a vast knowledge of music and a voice that’s reminiscent of the late Sam Cooke. From Jazz to Rock, from popular music to Top 40, he slides in and out of musical genres with ease. Mike Wheeler is a staple in the Chicago blues community, playing and writing songs for a variety of Chicago artists including Nellie Tiger Travis, Peaches Staten, Sam Cockrell, Demetria Taylor, Big Ray & Cadillac Dave. Mike was inducted in the Chicago Blues Hall of Fame in 2014.

Tina Jenkins Crawley – Hard Rock Café Stage – 9 p.m.

  • Tina is one of Chicago’s most highly acclaimed vocalists with a songbook ranging from jazz standards through Motown, Funk, R&B, as well as songs you hear on the radio today. She is currently featured as a recurring character and vocalist on the TV show “Empire” and has appeared on stage, screen, or film with artists like Jennifer Hudson, Heather Headley, Nelly, and Celine Dion.

Ivy Ford – Hard Rock Café Stage – 9 p.m.

  • Ivy Ford, is a singer, musician, and entertainer. Waukegan born and raised, at 26 she is an up and coming artist of the Chicago blues and live music scene. Ivy Ford started performing live with Kenosha based band The Real Deal at 13 and since then continues to nurture her niche and calling to the music. She plays piano, alto saxophone, drums, bass guitar and guitar which are primarily self taught. In January of 2015, Ivy Ford opened for legend Buddy Guy at his club in Chicago and continues to share the stage with Chicago blues hall of famers J.B. Ritchie, Joe Moss, Toronzo Cannon, and Tom Holland.

  • For over two decades, Cowboy Mouth has dished up its unique style of rock & roll gumbo, mixing a rowdy spirit reflective of the band’s hometown — New Orleans — with the fierce firepower of a group that lives on the road. These Louisiana natives have played more than 2,500 concerts and launched their signature song, “Jenny Says,” into the upper half of the Billboard rock charts.

DJ Sandra Sauve – Council Oak Bar Stage – 8 p.m.

  • Sandra is an Open Format DJ who has rocked crowds at Cuban Fest, Backlot Bash, Chicago Pride Parade, Pride North Festival, My House Music Fest, Villapalooza, Logan Square Arts Festival, Northalsted Market Days, and The Writer’s Bench: Battle for The Eagle. She is a resident DJ on Vocalo Radio Chicago and the resident DJ at The Gwen Hotel’s Tipsy Tea Party.

Ally Venable – Hard Rock Café Stage – 9 p.m.

  • With Heart Of Fire, Texas’s favourite new gunslinger Ally Venable is coming off the ropes of the pandemic swinging. Defying dark times and rolling up the amps, this fourth release from the acclaimed singer-songwriter is a record to rattle speakers and signpost better times ahead. “My vision was to really spread a positive message of love,” says Venable. “The world needs that right now.”
