April 4, 2023, Lansing elections
The Village of Lansing is organized into separate agencies that manage our parks, schools, library, and government. Every two years, Lansing residents have opportunities to vote for members of the Park Board, the Library Board, the Village Board, Thornton Fractional District 215 School Board, either Sunnybrook District 171 or District 158 School Board, the South Suburban College Board, and either Thornton Township or Bloom Township officials. Elected officials are in a position to build community through strategic budget decisions, consistent enforcement of ordinances, fair assessment of property, continuous development of programs, and casting vision for the long-term public good. During election years, The Lansing Journal gathers information about candidates running for office and shares it with the public so they can make informed voting decisions.
