Presley Dean Martinez DeYoung, age 20, of Gary, IN, formerly of Thornton, IL, passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 25, 2024. Loving son of Ryan (Angela) DeYoung and Anna Martinez. Dear brother of Lillian Martinez, Jonas Martinez DeYoung, Carlie Pecoraro, and Vinnie Pecoraro. Cherished grandson of Ray and Randi DeYoung, Albert Martinez, and Irma Sanchez. Devoted cousin to Gray DeYoung and a host of other cousins and special nephew to several aunts and uncles.
Presley was a loving son, brother, grandson, and friend. He loved basketball, video games, and pretended to hate when his mom dragged him out for nature walks. He loved snacks, smoothies and hard work. Ever since he was a young boy he was always looking for odd jobs to help him get the latest new shoe or outfit. He was very proud of his work ethic. In his short life he tried to teach his brother how to treat a lady and always tried to protect his big sister. He loved his grandparents endlessly and he will always be loved by his family.
A memorial gathering will be held with friends and family on Friday, March 1, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of a celebration of life service at 12:00 noon at Smits, DeYoung-Vroegh Funeral Home, 649 E. 162nd St. (Rt.6/159th St.) South Holland, IL.
