LANSING, Ill. (December 29, 2023) – For the second year in a row, the Village of Lansing is turning to sixth-, seventh-, and eighth-grade students for the artwork on its vehicle sticker.
Sponsored by Lansing Village Clerk Vivian Payne and the Lansing Human Relations Commission, the Vehicle Sticker Art Contest is an opportunity for one student’s design to be featured on more than 15,000 vehicle stickers that will be sold to Lansing residents in 2024, and the student will receive $100 in gift certificates.
The theme for the 2024-25 contest is “Love Livin’ in Lansing.”
“We are pleased to sponsor this contest again and get students engaged in an aspect of local government,” said Clerk Payne. “With such a broad theme, their submitted designs should be really interesting.”
Official entry blanks and details are available on the Village of Lansing’s website, VillageofLansing.org, and at the Lansing Municipal Center, 3141 Ridge Rd. The contest is open to all sixth-, seventh-, and eighth-grade students attending school or being homeschooled in Lansing.
All entries must be received at the Lansing Municipal Center no later than 5 p.m. Feb. 2, 2024.
The winning design will be chosen by a committee made up of Village officials and members of the Lansing Human Relations Commission.
Last year, Memorial Junior High School seventh grader Cidney Parker won first place for her design depicting the theme “Litter Free Lansing.” DeEric Gilbert and Elizabeth Alons took second and third place.
