Phoebe Schmidtke visits 20+ local businesses in December
Lansing, Ill. (December 29, 2023) – Last year it was a Candy Cane Hunt. This year it was the Lansing Express. Both games organized by the Lansing Area Chamber are designed to introduce Lansing residents to local businesses. The prize is a $100 gift card.
Young Phoebe Schmidtke — with help from her grandmother, Wilma Straatman — hopped aboard the Lansing Express and made 23 of the 24 stops, more than any other participant.
Chamber Ambassador Connie Simon made a personal visit to Phoebe on December 28 to present the gift card she had won.
Phoebe said she plans to spend some of the money on her dog and her pet rats, but she also has some personal spending in mind for this upcoming holiday: “New Year’s snacks” are on her list.
The Lansing Area Chamber is headquartered at 17551 Chicago Ave, Suite 1, in Lansing, Illinois.
