Legion Auxiliary presents Christmas shopping money to LPD

LANSING, Ill. (November 8, 2023) – At the Village Board meeting on Tuesday, November 7, members of Lansing’s American Legion Auxiliary presented a check to Chief Al Phillips of the Lansing Police Department.

The Auxiliary runs an Easter Egg Fundraiser each year in April to raise money for Lansing youth and children. This year they raised $500 and decided to donate it to the Lansing Police Department’s Shop with a Cop event.

“That’s so wonderful,” said Chief Al Phillips while receiving the check, noting that many of the children choose to use the opportunity to buy Christmas gifts for their parents.

The Lansing Police Department is tentatively scheduled to bring local children to the Lansing Walmart to do some Christmas shopping on December 20 at 10 a.m.
