“This is probably the most unique park I’ve ever skated”
LANSING, Ill. (November 3, 2023) – An October 25 post on the Lan-Oak Park District Facebook page announced, “The new Skate & Bike Park is open.” Not long after, members of Lansing’s skate community and the surrounding region were skating and biking there.
Two senior members of that community met with The Lansing Journal to share their impressions of the new skate park, to welcome new skaters of all ages, and to show off some of their skating moves:
Lansing’s new skate and bike park is located south of the Clock Tower on Ridge Road in downtown Lansing, Illinois. Lansing’s only skate shop — Royal Skate Apparel — recently moved to 3435 Ridge Road (next to Blue Collar Supply Co.).
Keemo and Gnarly serve people of all skating levels and are eager to help set you up to enjoy Lansing’s new skate park.

Good and informative interview, Josh!
I just watched your video of the new skate park and the owners of the new skate shop. That’s great that Lansing has such a nice park now. When my son, Chris, was skate boarding, there wasn’t much around. Now they have a place for them to go and it is visible! Thanks to those responsible for getting this done.
really loved sharing our history and show casing the new skatepark. thank you so much for the article!
