Donald R. Tiemens, age 86, of Lynwood, IL, went home to his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 25, 2023. Beloved husband of Barbara Tiemens, nee Gleason and the late Carolyn Tiemens, nee Van Noort. Loving father of Ronald (Martha) Tiemens, Patricia (Ronald) Witvoet, and late infant son Wayne. Father-in-law of the late Deanna Tiemens. Step-father of Chris (Renee) Ringos and Marcy (David) Mitchell. Proud grandfather of Christie (Gary) Tidd, Dan (Tara) Witvoet, Amy (Rob) Westfall, Alex (Jessica) Tiemens, Ryan (Angela) Wessels, and Libby (Adam) Milligan; Great-grandfather of Anna, Isabella, Isaac, Brendon, Bradley, Aubrey, Ryan, Shawn, Liam, Hudson, Bruce, Evangeline, William, and Eliza. Step-grandfather of Melina. Dear brother of Gerald (Ann) Tiemens, Brian (Helen) Tiemens, Beverly (late Calvin) Beezhold, late Theodore “Bob” (late Roselle) Tiemens, and his late infant brother Glenn. Kind uncle of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Garret and Vienna Tiemens.
Visitation Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at First Church (PCA) 3134 Ridge Road, Lansing, IL, with Rev. Ken Wojnarowski officiating. Interment Oak Ridge Cemetery – Lansing, IL. Donald was a repairman for Illinois Bell Telephone Company for many years, and a member of First Church PCA of Lansing, IL.
