53-year-old Lansing man shot and killed at QuikTrip

LANSING, Ill. (August 3, 2023) – 53-year-old Cameron Webster, of Lansing, was shot and killed at QuikTrip early Thursday morning.

At 4:39 a.m., Webster was found by Lansing Police at QuikTrip, located at 17355 Torrence Avenue. He had been near a gas pump when he was shot as the target of an armed robbery. His body was found near a black Dodge SUV at the scene. He was pronounced deceased at the site.

LPD Detective Lieutenant Mike Hynek said on Thursday afternoon that LPD had no one in custody as a suspect in the homicide investigation.

The investigation is being conducted by the Lansing Police Department and the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force.

QuikTrip opened in Lansing on July 20.
