Matthew John Wachtor, age 77, of Crete, IL, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2022. Beloved husband of Patricia Wachtor (nee Rhodes), sharing over 57 years of marriage. Loving father of Jennifer Wachtor, Jill Wilson (David), Matt Wachtor (Angelica). Cherished grandfather of Kylie Schultz, Miranda Wachtor, Hannah Ferguson, Sadie Schultz, Addison Wachtor, Clark Wachtor, Maddux Wachtor, and Ivy Wachtor. Preceded in death by his parents Joseph Wachtor and Caroline Pisarcik (Stephen).
Matthew enjoyed spending time with his wife, grandchildren, friends, and extended family. He was an avid Cubs fan, and enjoyed almost all sports. He had an amazing and sarcastic sense of humor, which he passed along to his offspring. He was very handy and could fix just about anything. He loved listening to Elvis, and may or may not have owned a pair of blue suede shoes at one time.
Visitation Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 2:00-7:00 pm, with a funeral service to be held at 6:00 pm at Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt. 30/Pleasant Springs Ln.) Dyer, IN.
