SOUTH HOLLAND, Ill. (March 17, 2019) – A special guest artist exhibition titled “Eclectically Yours, Tanya”—comprising photographs by artist Tanya Kryder—is on display in the Photo Four Gallery through April 4, 2019. A closing reception is scheduled for the artist on Thursday, April 4 at 12:30pm. The Photo Four Gallery is located in Room 4338 of South Suburban College’s main campus.
Tanya Kryder is an emerging fine art photographer based in Northeastern Indiana. She works in still life—constructed reality through digital composites and experimental (alternative/historical processes). While her composite work is dark and surreal with a bit of whimsy, it follows several themes with one common connection—the human condition. Meanwhile, her alternative process work is still in its experimental phase and is ever-changing in content and subject matter.
Kryder began her love affair with the camera at a young age. However, it wasn’t until she found a mentor who taught her traditional darkroom skills that she realized she had a passion for the whole artistic process, from capture to final print making. Kryder holds a degree in Fine Art Photography from Academy of Art University. She started her freelance career in 2009.
Kryder gained national recognition for her volunteer work with a project near and dear to her heart, focused on historic cemetery preservation. She worked on the project as the photographer, photo editor, and graphic artist. Kryder has participated in four group shows and two art fairs, and she has had work published in more than 14 publications.
South Suburban College galleries are open at minimum Mondays through Thursdays, 9:00am–6:00pm, and Fridays from 9:00am–4:00pm. The galleries are closed on weekends and holidays. The public is welcome to visit art exhibitions and receptions at no charge.
