Male Athlete Spotlight for May 20-25
Karrel Harvest, TF South boys track
The senior wrapped up his high-school career by taking seventh in the Class 3A shot put at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston with a throw of 57-11.75.
Female Athlete Spotlight for May 20-25
Mikayla Derks, Illiana Christian softball
The senior pitched both games for the Vikings at the Class 2A Andrean Sectional, a 5-0 semifinal win against the hosts and a 5-4, 10-inning loss to North Newton in the championship. Across 17 innings, she allowed 13 hits and five runs while striking out 14.
