Obituary: James A. Beil

October 22, 1931 – January 18, 2024

James A. Beil James A. Beil, age 92, of Schererville, IN, went home to his Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 18, 2024. Beloved husband of the late Eileen Joanne Beil (nee Quinn). Loving father of the late Gary (late Karen) Beil, Richard (Angie) Beil, Linda Jordan, and David (Becky) Beil. Devoted grandfather of Ashley (Micah) Trotti, Lindsey (Mark) Caravello, Anne (Zach) Owen, Laura Lorenz, Carolyn Beil, Molly (Jackson) Omushien, Cheryl (Anders) Kilmark, Kayln (Wes) Worland, and Travis Beil and great-grandfather of Maddy, Rebecca, Ellie, Evan, Emmett, Ealinn, Crixen, James, and William. Dear brother of Lee (Carole) Beil and the late Don (late Velma) Beil. Kind uncle of several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Hazel Beil.

Jim was a faithful member of the Dyer United Methodist Church for over 60 years. He loved singing in the choir and going on the men’s fishing trips to Canada. He was a retired sales engineer for various companies and was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, and of course THE Ohio State Buckeyes. He was loved by many and will be missed.

Visitation Sunday, January 21, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane, Dyer, IN, with Rev. Devin Cook officiating.
