Theme: Fostering Civility and Non-Violence
SOUTH HOLLAND, Ill. (January 3, 2024) – South Suburban College (SSC) is set to host the 11th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Business Brunch, a collaborative effort with SSC Trustee Anthony Williams, a champion of the event for the past decade. The occasion will pay tribute to community businesses and leaders, including Land O’Frost, recognized as the Business of the Year. Land O’Frost, a third-generation family-owned deli meat business founded by Antoon Van Eekeren in 1941, will be represented by Kelly Howard, Vice President of Supply Chain. The event will also feature the Community Service Award, the Reverend Leon Sullivan Award, and the Business Person of the Year award.
Illinois Supreme Court Justice Joy Virginia Cunningham and P. Scott Neville, Judge for the 1st District of the Illinois Supreme Court, are special guests of the event.
The Martin Luther King Jr. Business Brunch will take place on Saturday, January 6, 2024, 1 – 3:15 p.m. at SSC. Contributions made during the Martin Luther King Jr, Business Brunch will directly benefit the General Scholarship Fund at the South Suburban College Foundation.
