Obituary Gerald Witvoet

Gerald G. Witvoet, age 90, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, December 27, 2023. Loving husband of Joan Witvoet nee Roggemann. Devoted father of Jeffery Witvoet and Tamara (Arthur) Kreykes. Proud grandfather of Charlotte (Richard) Kreykes-Baxter, Gerald Kreykes, Emily (Joel II) Kreykes-Bollero, and Arie Kreykes. Cherished great-grandfather of Joel Bollero III, and Valentino Bollero. Dear brother of Ilene (Arthur) Jansma, late Melrose (late Lloyd) Schoon, late John G. (late Ann-Marie) Witvoet, late Frank G. (late Maradeen) Witvoet, and the late Harry G. (late Sharon) Witvoet. Preceded in death by his parents Gerrit J. and Irene Witvoet.

Visitation Tuesday, January 2, 2024 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30/Pleasant Springs Ln.), Dyer, IN. Funeral Service Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Church, 2740 Indiana Ave, Lansing, IL, with services conducted by Rev. Leroy Childress. Interment Oak Ridge Cemetery – Lansing, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations c/o the Witvoet family, appreciated.

Gerald was the lifetime owner and operator of Witvoet Trucking, a lifetime member of Operators Engineers Local #150, and a Veteran of the United States Army. Gerald will be dearly missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
