CALUMET CITY, Ill. (December 25, 2023) – The Calumet City Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodge #1 held their 37th Annual Santa Run the morning of Saturday, December 16. The Santa Run made the holidays brighter for many area children and their families,
FOP Lodge #1 members, Santa, and his elves gathered at 9 a.m. at the Calumet City Public Safety Training Center at 24 State Street. The Santa Run included visits to 29 Calumet City families. Santa distributed children’s gifts and food baskets made possible by FOP Lodge #1 fundraising efforts and generous community donations.
Once again this year, St. Nick traded in his nine-reindeer-powered sleigh for a red, 350-horsepower, 1931 Ford Model A hot rod. The vehicle was completed during a Motor Trend television show “Garage Squad” episode that aired in 2019.
“Santa Run is our way of giving back to the citizens who have supported and encouraged us throughout the year,” said FOP Lodge #1 event organizer Chris Siatta. “The smiles on the faces of the kids and families we help through this event are the greatest gift of all.”
