Video: A look back at your Lansing weather photography

LANSING, Ill. (December 22, 2023) – The Lansing Journal began publishing a daily weather post in 2022, and by the end of that year we had received photo contributions from 19 different people. A year later we have at least 38 different weather photographers. (A few are too young to be included in the official count because I don’t have contact information for them separate from their parents or grandparents.) The weather photo in each daily weather post has became an opportunity to showcase the variety of scenery in Lansing, and the diversity of lenses through which we view it.

This week’s video is a slideshow of one photo from each of those 38 Lansing weather photographers, along with the date it was published and the caption describing the scene:

All readers are invited to share local weather photos with The Lansing Journal. Make sure they are recent and taken in Lansing, Illinois, then email them to [email protected]. Include:

  • A description or the location of the photo
  • The names of any people or animals in the photo
  • The name of the person who took the photo
