Help us keep reporting — Local Business

82 stories so far this year, attracting tens of thousands of views

LANSING, Ill. (December 18, 2023) – When Josh and I stood outside the Taco Bell to record the video pictured above, it marked more than a year of following the story of that business coming to Lansing. We followed reports at Village Board meetings as far back as 2021 because we know that information is important to our community.

A year ago The Lansing Journal added Paul Czapkowicz to our roster of reporters. He’s been able to focus his efforts on coverage of local business happenings in Lansing, one of our most significant categories of reporting.

In the past 12 months, thousands of people have visited The Lansing Journal to read about Greco Nut & Candy, Chicago’s Chicken Shack, JJ’s Original Maxwell Street Polish, Taco Bell, and other businesses coming and going in Lansing.

The stories Paul writes not only help the businesses who are getting those views and clicks, they also help our readers and subscribers know what’s going on in town. And they bring people from the broader community into Lansing to spend money and time.

Some newspapers put their work behind a paywall as a way to encourage people to pay for what they read. The Lansing Journal doesn’t do that. Every article about every business is free for anyone to read.

But it costs money for us to provide that service. Will you do your part and help cover those costs?

Right now because of a SUSTAINABILITY MATCH, when you sign up as a Monthly Supporter at any level, The Lansing Journal will receive an extra $100. Use the form below to help us keep reporting — not just business, but all the stories that impact our community:
