LANSING, Ill. (November 29, 2023) – S.L Wine Bar continues to bring good vibes to the Lansing community during their monthly live music events. Over 50 people attended a November 24 event to listen to live music while enjoying a variety of wines and other liquors.
The two-hour event featured a live music performance by the group “2nd Nature Band” which currently has a residency at the bar.
The “Good Vibes Only” motto continues
The bar is owned and operated by married couple Christopher and Deja Cain, who both come from a lineage of business ownership.
The Cains’ aim is to continue their original business model of creating a safe, relaxed, and comfortable environment for all patrons.
“We want people who want to be here, who want to have a good time, who wants to relax from a hard day at work, from everyday life,” said Christopher Cain. “[We want people] who have a genuinely good vibe and who want to be around other people who have a good vibe and positivity.”
Cain is a musician himself and has been playing percussion instruments since he was 11 years old. He has experience in several genres of music including Gospel, R&B, and Jazz.
“I am a musician so I always [planned] to bring live music into the space [but] I wanted to do it correctly,” he said.
2nd Nature Band
2nd Nature Band was founded in 2010 by Wayne Bradford, Anthony Gaines, Benjamin Moore, and Matthew Berger to express the love of music through musical conversation.
The group consists of seven members including lead singers Sonshine Wiley and D Lylez. The other members who mainly play instruments include Brian Brown, Runere Brooks, Bobby Cooper, Richard Patterson, and Dwayne “Deo” Bradford.
The band has held a residency at S.L Wine Bar for over a year.
During the November 24 event, they performed several cover songs including “Angel” by Anita Baker, “Say Yes” by Floetry, and “Work” by Rihanna.
They also performed a few of their original songs including their latest single “Dirty Vibes.”
The bar’s live music event previously took place every first and third Thursday of the month but was recently changed to the last Friday of every month.
