Marc David McSwiggan, age 39, of Lowell, Indiana, formerly of Lansing, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly at his home. A light from our life is gone.
Marc is survived by his son, Jackson; his father and mother, Thomas and Krista McSwiggan; his brother, Michael (Melissa) McSwiggan; and his sister, Dana (Michael) Ratkovich. He is the fun-loving uncle to Jacob and Jackson McSwiggan, and M.J., Everett, and Watson Ratkovich. Marc was a long-time resident of Lansing, Illinois. He attended Trinity Lutheran Church and School, and Thornton Fractional South High School.
Marc was very handsome and acquired the name “Hollywood” as a young age by his maternal grandfather, Opi. Behind those good looks he genuinely cared about everyone. Marc enthusiastically enjoyed meeting new friends and always had a big smile and hug to give. He relentlessly made sure people were comfortable and having a good time.
Marc loved playing with his nephews by sharing bubble gum at every visit, playing catch, and hiding coins throughout the house for them to find. Other fond memories of Marc’s life include catching crappie on Windy Pointe at Lake Arbutus in Neillsville, WI, water skiing, and tubing.
His life here on earth ended too soon, but Jesus called him home. We will truly miss him and look forward to seeing him again in eternal life.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, November 17, 2023, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2505 Indiana Ave., Lansing, IL, from 9:30 to 11:00 AM with a funeral service immediately following with Pastor Ron Rock officiating. Marc will be laid to rest with a private burial at Oak Glen Lutheran Cemetery, Lansing, Illinois. Marc was loved by many and will be truly missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Marc’s name to Trinity Lutheran Church, Lansing, Illinois, or Heartland Wellness Center, 2068 Lucas Parkway, Lowell, Indiana 46356. Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements and care of Marc.
