LANSING, Ill. (October 27, 2023) – Wednesdays just got wackier in Lansing.
That’s because Tiny’s Flowers has opened a second store in the village, and the same Wacky Wednesday deal available at the 18055 Torrence Avenue location can also be found at the 3239 Ridge Road shop that opened on October 11.
“Wacky Wednesday is when you come in you get a beautiful bouquet for $20,” said owner Tiny Noble. “Any other day of the week you get a bouquet for $35.”
Expanding to Ridge
The Torrence Avenue store has been a fixture in Lansing for several years.
“I think I’ve been here since [20)]17 or 18,” Noble said.
Noble had wanted to expand next door at the Torrence location, but when that couldn’t happen she decided to open a second spot in Lansing.
“We just needed additional space so that we could design more,” Noble said.
She said the closing of another flower shop in the village has created a demand for more flowers in the Lansing area.
Flowers, gifts, and more
“We order a lot of our flowers from the farms, local farms, and some farms that are out of state,” Noble said.
Flowers, balloons, candles, and chocolates can all be bought at both locations that Noble said will “mirror” each other.
Noble is still deciding on the hours of operation for the Ridge shop, which will be closed on Sundays and Mondays.
“Different vibe” on Ridge
“Ridge Road is a whole different animal,” Noble said. “It’s a whole different vibe.”
Lily Tirado works at both of Tiny’s locations and is excited about the new store.
“I know it’s slow at first, but as soon as people start realizing that we’re here, more business will start coming this way, too,” Tirado said.
Tirado thinks the Ridge shop will see more walk-in business based on the number of people she has already seen strolling by the store. The location is the former site of Kent’s Barber Shop, which called that spot home for 32 years until closing earlier this year.
Tirado told a funny story of a man who came into the flower shop asking what happened to the barber shop.
“I told him that the gentleman retired and I wouldn’t be able to help with a haircut, but I would be able to help him with anything else floral-wise,” Tirado said.
Orders for either location can be placed by calling 708-394-3661 or visiting www.tinys-flowers.com.
