Lansing’s Plentiful Hair Studio specializes in holistic hair loss solutions

LANSING, Ill. (October 19, 2023) – Myeesha Sanders always wanted to work in Lansing.

“Everybody has always been friendly,” Sanders said. “We go to the grocery stores in Lansing. We go to the dollar store in Lansing. So we live in Calumet City but we do everything in Lansing.”

Sanders and her husband, Ade Denloye, made that dream happen when they moved their business, Plentiful Hair Studio, to Lansing in October 2022.

The studio has been in existence since 2018 but has been relocated from Hazel Crest to its new home at 3224 Ridge Road, Suite 203.

It is there that Sanders is making a difference in the lives of her customers.

Specializing in hair loss

“We specialize in hair loss solutions for those suffering from thinning hair and hair loss,” Sanders said.

She explained how the business offers all forms of non-surgical hair replacement and holistic hair rejuvenation.

“Some people are in the beginning stages of hair loss and they have thinning hair,” Sanders said. “We do treatments to restore their hair, to get the blood circulation going again. We start off doing a scalp analysis to see exactly why they have hair loss. Most of the time, it’s genetic.”

A health scan is also performed and bloodwork is done.

“It’s a magnetic health scan that scans your body and it’ll look for any type of deficiencies that you’re having,” Sanders said.

Holistic health

She described how hair restoration is treated from the inside out.

“We put you on a plan, a whole health plan at home,” Sanders said. “And then you come in every week in the beginning for treatments in the salon.”

But Sanders said some have advanced hair loss or they don’t want to restore it and for those people, non-surgical hair replacement is available.

“We do men’s hair systems,” Sanders said. “We do women’s hair systems. We do integration pieces. We do weaves. We do hair extensions.”

Sanders said a holistic approach is taken and that oils, injections and minoxidil are not utilized.

“We try to figure out the root cause of the hair loss and we address that while doing external treatments,” Sanders said.

Low-level laser therapy is used that Sanders said increases scalp circulation by 45 percent the first time.

She said while genetics is the most common cause of hair loss, things such as stress, diet and smoking can also contribute to it.

“If you don’t get enough vegetables, if you don’t get enough leafy greens, that can affect your hair,” Sanders said. “That can affect your gut health. Your gut health is a huge portion of your hair.”

More than hair

Sanders said this type of work allows her to meet people from a wide range of backgrounds.

“It’s completely multi-cultural,” Sanders said. “We have different clients of all genders and races. That’s what I like.”

The business gives back to the community by being a vendor for Veterans Affairs.

“We do provide wigs for veterans at no cost,” Sanders said.

Sanders explained how she started off doing hair extensions and began seeing more and more people with hair loss. She took classes to become a licensed cosmetologist and hair loss practitioner and began seeing the confidence her work brought out in people.

“Just last week, my client told me if she didn’t do this, she wouldn’t have went to her high school reunion,” Sanders said.

Sanders said she works with people who have been avoiding graduations, weddings and parties due to their hair loss.

“I just see the change in people and I love it,” she said.

Other than an office manager, Sanders and Denloye are the only employees at the studio.

Sanders said Denloye helps in part by doing many of the consultations with male clients.

Denloye said restoring confidence and making people happy is the goal.

“It’s just amazing when you see their faces once the hair is done,” Denloye said.

People can visit www.plentifulhairstudio.com or call (708) 529-6000 to book a service or inquire about pricing which can vary widely depending on the type of service involved.

“We are very passionate about what we do,” Sanders said.
