Linda S. Schoon, nee Van Til, age 70, of Highland, IN went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 7, 2023. Beloved wife of Kenneth Schoon. Loving mother of David (Lisa) Schoon, Nicole (Jason) Smit, and Mark (Amanda) Schoon. Loving and caring grandmother of Lainey, Bryson, Oliver, Simon, Ari, Leo, Saya, and Andre. Dear sister of Ruth (Donald) Santefort, caring daughter-in-law of Jennie Schoon. Preceded in death by her parents Arnold and Ruth Van Til.
Linda was the President of Midwest Refrigeration Corp. for 22 years and had been a longtime employee with Van Til’s Fruit Market. Her faith was an integral part of her life, as she served in various ministries at Bethel CRC, Crossroads Community Church, Lansing Christian School, and Illiana Christian High School. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
Visitation Thursday, October 12, 2023, from 3 – 8 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane, Dyer, IN. A Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 13, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at Smits Funeral Home with Rev. Drew Brown officiating. Interment Oak Ridge Cemetery – Lansing, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Highland Christian School or World Renew.
