Lansing Fire Department promotes Nick Fionda and Tony Minkalis

LANSING, Ill. (August 17, 2023) – At the Village Board meeting on Tuesday, August 15, Fire Chief Chad Kooyenga officially recognized the promotions of Lieutenant/Paramedic Nick Fionda and Engineer/Paramedic Tony Minkalis.

Fionda has served with LFD for 10 years. He is the shift leader on Gold Shift and works out of Station #29 on the south end of town, 19300 Burnham Avenue.

His family was present at the meeting to watch him be sworn in to the new position.

Minkalis has served with the Lansing Fire Department for 26 years and is the junior engineer on Black Shift. He works out of Station #31 on the north end of town, 2720 170th Street (next to the Lansing Police Department).

Audience members applauded the promotions, and both men shook hands with the Mayor and Trustees after being sworn in.
