LPD plans National Night Out activities

LANSING, Ill. (July 30, 2023) – The Lansing Police Department invites families and community members to Fox Pointe for National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 1, to participate in an evening full of fun and free activities.

National Night Out is a national event that promotes police-community partnerships. To mark the occasion, the Lansing Police Department has planned entertainment from 5-8 p.m., such as a magician and K-9 demonstration; and activities such as a dunk tank, fun with bubbles, a bouncy house, and train rides.

There will be free food, drawings, and prizes. The Lansing Public Library, the Patti Leach Youth Center, and a host of other organizations and vendors will also sponsor fun for the evening event.

“We want to get to know our community members, and we want them to know us,” said Lansing Chief of Police Alfred Phillips. “The better our partnerships in the community, the stronger we as a community will be.”

“Come out, have fun, and enjoy an evening interacting with officers who serve Lansing,” he added.

Fox Pointe is located at 18138 Henry St. For more information, contact the Lansing Police Department, 708-895-7150.
