Video: Exclusively for seniors, VR now at Lansing Public Library

LANSING, Ill. (July 21, 2023) – Virtual Reality, or VR, was adopted early by the gaming industry, and that stereotype can color people’s assumptions about its usefulness. But as Andrew Harootunian at the Lansing Public Library points out in this week’s video, VR is more than just a game. It is being used in healthcare, fitness, education, architecture, and many other industries.

Through a grant from AgeOptions, the library has launched an exploration of VR specifically for seniors. Up to 10 people at a time can don VR goggles and learn how to use the controllers, with Harootunian at hand to guide the process.
