Family-owned La Michoacana Compi offers homemade ice cream in a variety of flavors unique to Lansing

LANSING, Ill. (July 14, 2023) – If you’re ready to expand beyond vanilla, chocolate, and mint chocolate chip — three popular flavors in the 45+ age group — Lansing’s La Michoacana Compi can introduce you to a whole new level of deliciousness. Owners Rosa and Ruben Gonzalez make the ice cream onsite with natural ingredients like real milk, real cream, and real fruit. Their daughter Bri met Josh and Melanie at the shop (19283 Burnham Avenue, Lansing) to help them begin an early celebration of National Ice Cream Day, which falls on July 16 this year:

About National Ice Cream Day

National Ice Cream Day was instituted by President Ronald Reagan in 1984 as a way to acknowledge the dairy-based dessert enjoyed by more than 90 percent of the US population. It is observed on the third Sunday in July. In fact, Reagan also proclaimed July to be National Ice Cream month.

About La Michoacana Compi

La Michoacana Compi is open year-round, located at 19283 Burnham Avenue, across from the fire station and Heritage Middle School.
