Thornton Historical Society to host Cleopatra re-enactor April 24

THORNTON, Ill. (April 18, 2023) – The Village of Thornton Historical Society is inviting the public to attend a free program entitled: “Cleopatra, the Last Pharaoh of Egypt” by Martina Mathisen on Monday, April 24, 7 pm at their Historical Museum located at 114 N. Hunter Street in Thornton.

Historical re-enactor Martina Mathisen is back, this time as the most famous female ruler in history. Learn the true story behind one of the world’s most famous historical figures. Cleopatra “herself” will share her astounding story, audacious spirit, and astonishing guile in an exciting presentation audiences won’t want to miss.

The public is welcome to attend this free event. Refreshments will be served. Attendees should use the side entrance. The museum is wheelchair accessible.
