Obituary Anita Anderson

Anita Louise Anderson, age 79 of Griffith, Indiana, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 6th, 2023.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Kenneth Anderson. She is survived by her children Bambi (Greg) Breitzke of Kouts, IN, Geannie (Emmett) Crawford of Crown Point, IN, Derek (Melissa) Eaglin of Neenah, WI, and Tara (Scott) Jajowka of Crown Point, IN. She is also survived by siblings Charles (Katherine) Labahn of Lansing, IL, Diane (Joe) Scanlon of Schererville, IN, and David (Joan) Labahn of Birchwood, WI.

Anita was a cherished Grandmother of Michael Conners Jr., Mark Gardner, Alexander Conners, Brianna Eaglin, Danielle Eaglin, Jenna Jajowka, and Aleks Jajowka. She was also a Great Grandmother of Lucas, Liam, Landon, Pierce, Ellington, and Aryanna, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Daniel and Timothy Labahn, and sister Ruth Ann Kirk, son-in-law Mark F. Gardner, grandson Derek Lee Francis Eaglin, son Darin Anderson, and parents Albert and Catherine Labahn.

Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Road, Lansing, Illinois, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral services for Anita will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at 11:00 AM at St. John Lutheran Church, 18100 Wentworth Ave, Lansing, Illinois, with Pastor John Richy officiating. Friends may visit at the church from 10:00 AM until time of service. Anita will be laid to rest at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Crown Point, Indiana.

Anita was raised in Lansing, IL, and was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church in Lansing, IL. She loved her annual trips to Wisconsin to go fishing with her family. She also loved to cook and bake for her family and friends. Anita was also a nurse at St. James Hospital for over 30 years. She was loved by everyone and will be truly missed. In lieu of flowers, a contribution in Anita’s name to St. John Lutheran Church would be greatly appreciated. Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home has been entrusted with Anita’s care and arrangements.
