Obituary: Lucille “Lucy” Misovye-Hojnacki

July 12, 1935 – February 3, 2023

Lucille "Lucy" Misovye-Hojnacki Lucille (Lucy) Misovye-Hojnacki, 87, of Chicago Heights, formerly of Dolton, Illinois, and Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2023. She is survived by her children, Christine Podgorny (Phil Bartock), Charles Misovye, and Cindie (Bob) Bogs. Also, her grandson, Michael (Kelly) Podgorny, her great-grandson, Giovanni Podgorny, and her step-grandchildren, Crystal (Lars) Carlson, Bobby Bogs, and Josh Bartock. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Misovye Jr., and second husband, Frank Hojnacki. Dear sister-in-law of Phyllis Billeck (Jack, deceased) and Clara Milewski (Binek, deceased). Fond aunt of Cheryl (Tom) Crippen, John “Jackie” Billeck, (deceased), Tim (Melitta) Billeck, and Ellen (Eddie) Dancer.

Lucy was the owner of Misovye’s Deli and Catering in Dolton, Illinois, for many years, and an honorary member of the Las Vegas Notre Dame Club.

Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, February 9, 2023, from 3 to 8 p.m., with a service at 8 p.m. at Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Road, Lansing, Illinois, with Deacon Jim Renwick officiating. Lucy will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Calumet City, Illinois, interment will be private. Lucy was loved by many and she will be truly missed.
