Paul Charles Koepke, born in Chicago and formerly of Lansing, Illinois, was taken into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday evening, May 21st, after a valiant battle with cancer and other serious illnesses.
Paul and his wife Jan recently moved to Council Grove, Kansas, where Paul felt the great peace and solace that small town America offers. He loved the Flint Hills, the people he met here, and discovering new places of interest. He also valued family and friends. It was of great importance to him that he stay connected with people from his past and present. They contributed to his character and anchored him, he said.
Paul and Jan were long-time members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lansing before transferring membership to Calvary Lutheran Church in Council Grove, where Jan’s youngest son, Adam Reichart, is the Pastor.
Paul kept his amazing sense of humor throughout his years of struggling with his health issues. His family is grateful for that and for his love of life, his generosity, and his humble spirit. However, they are most grateful for his steadfast faith. Paul knew that his Redeemer lives. Therefore, he now lives with Him in eternity.
His family and friends rejoice in that certainty!
