Lansing Police investigating fatal Tuesday morning shooting on Grant Street

LANSING, Ill. (July 6, 2021) – The Lansing Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the early morning hours of Tuesday, July 6.

At around 2:20 a.m., officers responded to a call from the 17100 block of Grant Street where shots had been reported. On the scene, Lansing paramedics attended to a 34-year old male from Chicago with multiple gunshot wounds. The man was transported to Franciscan Health in Hammond, IN before succumbing to his injuries.

The Lansing Police Criminal Investigations Division and the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigators are investigating the case, and have said the shooting appears to be an isolated incident.
