Putting ink on paper

People make it possible

by Melanie Jongsma

Ink
Paper
Our friends at the Homewood-Flossmoor Chronicle recently posted a story about the Canadian tariffs that have resulted in higher newsprint prices, which forced the Chronicle to choose a different printer for their monthly print issue. The printer they left behind is Park Press, which also prints The Lansing Journal. Crump expressed regret for having to make that choice, but it’s understandable. His article is a reminder that your free community newspaper isn’t really free. It costs money to put ink on paper.

Sharing the cost

We are grateful for people who understand the value of a community newspaper and are willing to chip in to help cover the costs. Each month we receive checks and online payments from readers who are eager to see The Lansing Journal thrive. We are grateful for that kind of visionary partnership.

Sharing our thanks

These are not people who seek out the limelight, but we would not feel right if we didn’t express our gratitude publicly. During the month of June, we received contributions from the following:

  • Beverly Cable
  • Doug and Bonnie Cable
  • Barbara Dust
  • Kerry Czarobski
  • Megan Harvey
  • Leroy Jansma
  • Robert Jaranowski
  • Patricia Kremer
  • Lisa Leonard
  • Joanne Pritchard
  • Mary Beth Palka
  • Slaughter & Associates
  • Linda Todd
  • Patricia Yos
  • Donald Zylstra

We are grateful for the support of our community! Thank you!

Sharing the love

If you love The Lansing Journal and want to help us put ink on paper, we’d love to accept your support. We’ve set up a convenient interface where you can choose an amount to give each month and charge it to your credit card:

If you prefer to send a check, we’d love that too! Make checks payable to The Lansing Journal and mail them to P.O. Box 742, Lansing IL 60438.

With a broad base of support, we are less vulnerable to rising paper costs, postal increases, and other business expenses. Thank you for helping us give Lansing the newspaper it deserves.
