Video: Government at work — Thornton Township vs Village of Lansing

-

LANSING, Ill. (June 28, 2024) – The Lansing Journal has been providing video coverage of Thornton Township meetings since 2022. Last week we also shot video of the Lansing Village Board meetings, including the board’s second review of the 2025 budget.

Having video of budget presentations for the boards of both Thornton Township and the Village of Lansing provided a unique opportunity for comparison of those two forms of government at work:

Readers and viewers, what are your thoughts about using video to report on our Village Board meetings? Are you a visual learner? Is it helpful when you see and hear our Board and your fellow residents in action?

Would it be helpful for The Lansing Journal to publish the full video of the full meeting? Average meeting length is about two hours.

  1. Very clear and a good explanation of the uneasiness of the public concerning the Thornton Township situation. Very even handed without being accusatory or disrespectful. Thank you Lansing Journal for keeping us informed.
