Fox Pointe’s first Friday Night Lights concert of the summer serves up country music, Nashville style

-

LANSING, Ill. (June 23, 2024) –  The first concert of Fox Pointe’s Friday Night Lights series catered to local country music fans. Two tribute bands — Ultimate Eric Church and Tennessee Whiskey Chicago — served up outlaw country, southern country, and southern soul with the Nashville sounds of Eric Church and Chris Stapleton respectively.

Ultimate Eric Church

Ultimate Eric Church opened their set with “Some of It” and followed with other Eric Church hits such as “Heart on Fire,” “Desperate Man”, and “Like a Wrecking Ball.” Particular crowd favorites were “Springsteen” and “Stick That in Your Country Song.”

The band also included in the playlist the music of Nashville greats such as Toby Keith’s “Should Have Been a Cowboy,” Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire,” and Hank Williams Jr’s “Family Tradition.”

Tennessee Whiskey Chicago

Once the sun had set, Tennessee Whiskey Chicago took the stage. They delivered the country, classic rock, and Southern soul of Chris Stapleton music. Included in their set were “Hard Livin’” and of course Stapleton’s biggest hit, “Tennessee Whiskey.” They also performed a soulful cover of Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On.”

Vendors

Beers, drinks, and a constant breeze helped cool concertgoers during the near-90-degree evening. Food and drink vendors included One Trick Pony Brewery, OMG Pastries, and Fox Pointe’s in-house vendor Ace Catering.

Friday night’s three-and-a-half-hour event was the first of three Friday Night Lights concerts planned for this summer. The two remaining are scheduled as follows:
