‘Sale and distribution of alcoholic liquors’ focus of March 26 Village Board Special Meeting

Tuesday, March 26, 5:30 p.m.

LANSING, Ill. (March 23, 2024) – The Lansing Village Board of Trustees will host a special meeting on Tuesday, March 26 that will focus on an amendment to the liquor code in Lansing.

The sole item on the agenda states:

  • “ORDINANCE # 24-016, AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF LANSING AMENDING CHAPTER 8 (“ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES”) OF ITS MUNICIPAL CODE RELATED TO THE ADMINISTRATION AND REGULATION OF THE SALE AND DISTRIBUTION OF ALCOHOLIC LIQUORS WITHIN THE VILLAGE”

The public will have a chance to make comments at the meeting as well.

The Special Meeting will take place at the Village Court Complex at 2710 170th Street at 5:30 p.m.

Open Meetings Act

The Open Meetings Act requires that “An agenda for each regular meeting shall be posted at the principal office of the public body and at the location where the meeting is to be held at least 48 hours in advance of the holding of the meeting.” The Village of Lansing posts agendas and minutes from public meetings in the “Documents” section of their website, and copies are usually emailed to The Lansing Journal as well.
