Lansing Cleanup Day is April 20 – Volunteers needed

LANSING, Ill. (March 19, 2024) – Calling all families, church and school groups, businesses and organizations — come out and participate in the 15th Annual Village of Lansing Cleanup Day and help make a difference in the environment.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 20, rain or shine. Participants will sign in between 9 and 9:45 a.m. at Fox Pointe, 18138 Henry Street. Cleaning will take place between 10 a.m. and noon. Everyone will meet back at Fox Pointe for a barbecue lunch.

“Not only is litter an eyesore, it can lead to soil, water, and air pollution,” said Donna Stuckert, director of communications for the village. “It endangers our environment, our wildlife, and our economy.

“This event only takes two hours of your time and has a major impact on our village,” she continued. “It’s a great day to meet new friends and build civic pride. We will even feed you lunch afterward!”

Interested volunteers should register online by April 17 under “News” on the village website, www.villageoflansing.org, or at the Lansing Municipal Center, 3141 Ridge Road.
