Zack Vervlied, Illiana Christian boys swimming
The junior won the 50-yard freestyle in 21.00 and the 100 butterfly in 49.85 at the Lake Central Sectional, qualifying for state in both events.
Female Athlete Spotlight for February 12-17
Vesta Radziute, Marian Catholic girls basketball
The freshman scored 11 points in a 72-16 Class 3A regional semifinal win against Thornridge and had 12 points in a 62-13 regional final victory over Bremen.
