Local Sierra Club to host ‘Plastic Earth’ documentary

Monday, February 12, 2024, at 7 p.m. via Zoom

CHICAGO, Ill. (February 7, 2024) – “Plastic Earth” is a groundbreaking documentary that follows Janice Overbeck, a concerned mother, as she embarks on a journey to uncover the full extent of the global plastic crisis. She interviews leading scientists, engineers, researchers, and environmental advocates and learns about the solutions they are developing.

The Sauk Calumet Group of the Sierra Club will be watching the documentary at their February 12 meeting. This meeting will take place via Zoom only; there will be no in-person option this month.

Because the film is 100 minutes long, the online meeting will begin at 7 p.m., 15 minutes earlier than usual. The meeting will open with a few announcements, followed by the film and discussion time.

The meeting and documentary viewing are open to the public. Registration is available at the link below:

Other Illinois Sierra Club events are accessible from the Illinois Sierra Club calendar:

All meetings are free and open to both Sierra Club members and the general public. For more information about the Sauk-Calumet Group and its activities, contact Patrick Coffey at [email protected].
