Obituary Beverly Jaggers

Beverly Jaggers passed away peacefully on January 25, 2024, in Quitman, Texas. Born on November 13, 1943, in Hammond, Indiana, Beverly led a remarkable life filled with love and adventure.

Beverly’s career as a cosmetologist spanned many years during which she touched the lives of countless individuals. She owned her own beauty salon, “Bunny’s Hutch.” With her creative spirit and expert touch, she transformed the hair and appearance of her clients, leaving them feeling confident and radiant. She loved keeping people on their toes by changing her own color and style with wigs and hair pieces, or wearing hot pants and miniskirts, or her creative Halloween costumes. Beverly’s talent was surpassed only by her warm and nurturing nature — she truly made everyone she encountered feel like family.

Outside of work, Beverly embraced life with enthusiasm and an unwavering spirit of adventure. She met the love of her life, Barry, at Whataburger. They were married for a remarkable 37 years.

Accompanying her husband on his job travels throughout the country, Beverly reveled in exploring new places. From camping trips to leisurely drives along scenic routes, she found joy in every moment spent discovering the beauty of the world around her. An avid crochet enthusiast, Beverly poured her heart into creating intricate pieces that adorned the lives of loved ones.

Known affectionately as “Grandma Bear,” Beverly’s nurturing soul extended to her family and friends. She built deep connections and maintained cherished relationships that lasted a lifetime. Her kind-hearted nature touched all generations within her family, radiating love and creating lasting bonds.

Beverly was a fun-loving child at heart and always said “You’re only as old as you act.” She truly lived by her own rules.

Beverly is survived by her loving husband Barry Jaggers of Winnsboro; daughter Kitty Galvin and husband Edward of Virginia Beach, VA; grandchildren Ryan Galvin, Morgan Galvin, Timothy Galvin, Jasmine Lorrick, Allie Tagupa, and Dominique Bacot; great-grandchild Nora Lorrick; her sister Julie Peddy of La Conner, WA; and a host of nieces and nephews who adored her. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and Bucksot family.

Beverly is preceded in death by her parents Ronald and Myra Peddy; daughter Kim Tagupa; brothers Jack Nelson, Jerry Peddy, Robert Peddy; her nieces Teri Grigsby and Shayla Peddy; and her nephew Ronald Peddy.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of Beverly to the Caraday of Quitman or Reflections Hospice.
