Video: The Great Ice Rink Experiment at Living Word Church

-

It’s been a week of “makin’ audibles,” says Harold Lewis, Maintenance Manager

LANSING, Ill. (January 19, 2024) – How do you turn a church parking lot into a community ice rink? The Lansing Journal documented Living Word’s experience, which involved shovels, hammers, plastic sheeting, fire hoses, lights, and plenty of hardy volunteers. It also involved weather that included wind, sun, snow, ice, and temperatures ranging from -3 to 26 degrees.

Living Word is located at 2248 186th Street in Lansing. Stay updated on the skatability of their community ice rink on their website or Facebook page:

  1. Trustee Brian Hardy and I stopped in on Sunday to see the pond and watch the skaters! It was a BLAST! Thank You Living Word Church and the Lansing Journal getting the word out. Maureen
