Former Lansing resident Kathleen Dagis releases first book, ‘Almost Famous’

LANSING, Ill. (January 18, 2024) – “My goal is to motivate and inspire others by sharing my amazing story,” says Kathleen Dagis in the intro to the book she released in 2023, Almost Famous. The book describes her experiences in the entertainment industry, where she has worked as an extra, crew member, and stand-in, in addition to getting some speaking roles.

Dagis grew up on Oakwood Avenue in Lansing and spent her youth swimming in Lan-Oak Pool and reading at the Lansing Public Library. She attended St. Ann and TF South before majoring in Communications and Media at Purdue University in Hammond.

Her professional life has included work in banking, property management, and real estate, but the book makes clear that her passion has always been “the captivating world of the entertainment business, particularly the TV and film industry.” At a January 4 booksigning event in Naperville, where Dagis currently lives, she encouraged attenders to stay positive and be persistent in seeking opportunities.
