LANSING, Ill. (January 17, 2024) – On MLK Day (January 15), members and friends of Lansing’s Common Ground program met at Kdulche Cafe (3521 Ridge Road) for conversation, service, and Lansing Journal Lattes.

Common Ground
Common Grounder Lauren Jahn helped organize the meeting. The law firm she works for encouraged employees to consider MLK Day a “day on” rather than a day off, and participate in a service project. Lauren shared that project with the Common Ground group. (Photo: Melanie Jongsma)
Lauren’s mom Darlene also enjoyed the Lansing Journal Latte while participating in the service project, which involved assembling toiletry kits for people in need. (Photo: Melanie Jongsma)

What’s a Lansing Journal Latte?

The Lansing Journal Latte is a signature beverage created by Kdulche owner Eduardo Zepeda. The blend of caramel, chocolate, and vanilla flavors celebrate Lansing’s friendly diversity, and the rich espresso and cream evoke Lansing’s only newspaper.

The beverage is available only in Lansing, Illinois, only at Kdulche Cafe.

The Lansing Journal has created a “Love Lansing a Latte” shirt design to celebrate the unique partnership with Kdulche.

Love Lansing a Latte is available as a shirt, sweatshirt, or hoodie from The Lansing Journal’s TeePublic store. In the image at the top of the page, Melanie is wearing a Lightweight Hoodie in Vintage Grape. Click to shop the options.
