2024 Wolf Lake Winter Wonderland festival to feature Tree ID Walk

WHITING, Ind. (January 1, 2024) – The 23rd annual Winter Wonderland festival on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024, will feature a Tree Identification Walk at 1:30 p.m. at Eggers Grove Forest Preserve in Chicago.

The event is sponsored by the Association for the Wolf Lake Initiative (AWLI).

Marianne Kozlowski, co-steward of Eggers Grove, will lead the walk. Participants should wear sturdy shoes and outerwear fit for the weather.

The entrance to Eggers Grove is at East 112th Street and South Avenue E, Chicago.

To reach the Tree Identification Walk:

  • After entering the forest preserve, drive to the stop sign at the T-intersection and turn left (east).
  • Drive past the brick caretaker’s building into the east lot and park.
