OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. – (December 9, 2023) – The Chicago Southland Convention & Visitors Bureau (CSCVB) has released two new rewards programs — “Artistic Sights of the Southland” and “The Curtain Call” — to encourage visitors and residents alike to frequent local visual and theatrical arts attractions.

The incentive program, “Passports to the Southland,” is free, mobile, and available to anyone signing up at VisitChicagoSouthland.com/Southland-Passes. Users check in at participating locations and instantly earn points that can be redeemed for swag ranging from clothing to mugs, and more.

“’Passports to the Southland’ is a way of saying thanks for supporting local businesses,” said Jim Garrett, President/CEO of the Chicago Southland Convention & Visitors Bureau. “As for the ‘Artistic Sights of the Southland’ and ‘The Curtain Call’ passports, the winter arts and holiday seasons are prime in the Chicago Southland.”

“Artistic Sights of the Southland” includes such art venues as Nathan Manilow Sculpture Park, Flossmoor Sculpture Gardens, and Union Street Gallery.

“The Curtain Call” features the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra, Freedom Hall, and Governors State University’s Center for the Performing Arts.

The “Passports to the Southland” initiative now includes four programs in total with the golf-themed “Tee It Up” and foodie-targeted “Savor the Southland” alongside the two new art-based additions.

Users receive their rewards passport via text and email upon signing up. A link is sent to their mobile phone which opens the passport and directs the user to add the button icon to their home screen, where they can access it at any time. No apps or downloads are required.

Garrett, said “With hundreds of arts and culture venues, local restaurants and golf courses included within these passports, all four showcase the best of the Chicago Southland in an easy, mobile friendly way.”
